 Jim Mackin is a historian, author, and co-director of the Bloomingdale Neighborhood History Group where he has made presentations such as “The Battle of Harlem Heights,” “Historic Hospitals in the Bloomingdale Area” and “The Ninth Avenue El.” As the founder and leader of WeekdayWalks (weekdaywalks.com), he conducts weekly offbeat historical walks to less explored areas of metropolitan New York. He also conducts tours for the New-York Historical Society. Currently, he is President of the Friends of Taconic State Park in Columbia County, New York, and has been President of the Roebling Chapter of the Society for Industrial Archeology.
